Hello Autumn

83 Dalston Lane, London (map)

Golden showers of falling leaves, crisp bright days, and an abundance of harvest produce - we celebrated the new season together.

About the event

Another delightful evening at 83 Dalston Lane. Old and new friends came together and chatted and laughed and enjoyed the delicious food. Real connections are made at our suppers and lives change because of them. We were delighted to see carer C arrive on her own this time. Previously she’s been too nervous and has been accompanied by first her daughter and then her son. It’s a testament to C that she felt comfortable and confident enough to join independently. C proudly told us that at a previous event her son had been seated next to a client of Prisoner’s Abroad called Mc. C’s son and Mc got on like a house on fire and swapped numbers. Consequently they now meet up and with C’s son’s help Mc now has a job. C’s son came as a support to his Mum; he didn’t expect to leave with a new friend. We don’t often hear about these outcomes that thank you C for telling us. As well as enjoying ourselves at these evening, its stories like these that really make it worthwhile.

The menu was creatively devised on the night by Andi, our head chef, using mostly surplus food kindly donated by City Harvest. The food is always within its used-by date and would otherwise be thrown away.

Kind words

"To Louise and all the wonderful people at Mike’s Table,
A big thank you for your considerable kindness in providing a very enjoyable evening.
I feel extremely fortunate to have been invited to two great meals at Dalston Road. Each time I’ve left with a good attitude and my faith in people well restored."

“I was one of the honoured guests to be included on September 29th. A fabulous evening, delicious food, inspiring company a truly humbling event.. I left richer in so many ways. The mission was definitely fulfilled - hope, peace, joy and love. A mere thank you does not fully suffice- but ‘thank you’ one and all.”

“I really enjoyed and it was amazing to see new people. The staff and chefs are supper welcoming and nice. I definitely like to go again.“
