About the event
Our Front of House Team gave out juice and soft drinks, homemade flatbreads and dips, as guest arrived and settled at the long tables. It was a full house! Jess and Philippa, ably assisted by Georgia, invited the kids up on the stage to play movement games. They looked and sounded like they were having a lot of fun.
Then we all ate our soup and main course together - the pasta was a huge hit with the kids. And at last it was time for the quiz. With each team eager to answer the questions it was quite difficult to sort out the winner but everyone was happy with their prizes and we all settled down again to enjoy another of Daniel’s famous puddings.
It was a super evening, very uplifting. We were treated to a reading of a poem written by one young guest which was her memory of the Grenfell Tower fire and aftermath. Shivers ran up my arms as I listened to her words and the room was respectfully quiet before erupting into well deserved applause.
The children were energetic, cheeky, engaged and all had beautiful manners. They left with huge smiles on their faces and were full of ‘Thank-yous’. And the adults seem to enjoy it too!
